Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana, is announcing its annual Economic & Business Review (EBR) research conference, which is this year organized in cooperation with the University of Udine.
For the past decades, the EBR has been publishing high quality theoretical, empirical, applied or policy-oriented research papers from various fields of economics and business. It is our aim to continue promoting quality research in the fields covered by the journal as well as to provide yearly conferences, serving as a regional forum for academic discussion of research results.
This year the conference will address the challenges of businesses and policy-makers in the uncertain technological, economic and political environment of the early 21st century. On the one hand the technological progress is at an unprecedented pace changing the ways we do business and live, and with many successful innovations further strengthening the optimistic economic outlook on the future. On the other hand, the uncertain political developments and the tense relationships between the global powers are shedding grim outlook on the near-future economic developments as well. Global tensions are mirrored also in the uncertain outlooks at the national level, where both policy-makers and businesses are trying to navigate the rocky waters. How can these challenges be successfully addressed, leading to a prosperous and inclusive global future?
We cordially invite academics, researchers as well as PhD students, irrespective of their institutional or geographical affiliation, to submit theoretical, empirical, applied, or policy-oriented research papers dealing with different economics and business topics to our conference. We specifically welcome papers that relate to the main conference topic, which is devoted to the challenges of sustainable development. (All papers discussing other relevant economic and business issues will be considered as well.)
Conference format. The Conference will span over one day. The program will include plenary session led by a prominent guest speaker and devoted to the main issues of the 8th Annual Conference, and will continue with presentations of selected papers divided into parallel sessions by the field of specialization.
